Hello, hello!
Can you believe it's already summer? It seems like just yesterday we were turning the page into spring. And now it's officially, officially flip-flop and swimming weather (I've already been twice! 🥰).
May was a lot of fun, and I'm super excited for this coming month. I've been doing a lot of fun things lately, and have more planned coming up soon. 😊 But before we get into all my plans, let's take a look back at May.
WHAT I DID IN MAY . . .
I bought books.
A lot of them. 😆
I think I bought . . . 6? Yeah, that sounds right XD. And I've read all of them . . . except one. 👀 But before I get into that, here's what I bought:
𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚘𝚛𝚙𝚑𝚊𝚗'𝚜 𝚠𝚒𝚜𝚑 𝚋𝚢 𝚖𝚎𝚕𝚊𝚗𝚒𝚎 𝚍𝚒𝚌𝚔𝚎𝚛𝚜𝚘𝚗
𝚎𝚖𝚖𝚊 𝚋𝚢 𝚓𝚊𝚗𝚎 𝚊𝚞𝚜𝚝𝚎𝚗
𝚜𝚘𝚗𝚐 𝚏𝚘𝚛 𝚊 𝚠𝚑𝚊𝚕𝚎 𝚋𝚢 𝚕𝚢𝚗𝚗𝚎 𝚔𝚎𝚕𝚕𝚢
𝚖𝚊𝚝𝚌𝚑𝚎𝚍 𝚋𝚢 𝚊𝚕𝚕𝚢 𝚌𝚘𝚗𝚍𝚒𝚎
𝚍𝚎𝚜𝚝𝚒𝚗𝚊𝚝𝚒𝚘𝚗 𝚞𝚗𝚔𝚗𝚘𝚠𝚗 𝚋𝚢 𝚊𝚖𝚢 𝚌𝚕𝚒𝚙𝚜𝚝𝚘𝚗
𝚔𝚒𝚜𝚜𝚎𝚜 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚌𝚛𝚘𝚒𝚜𝚜𝚊𝚗𝚝𝚜 𝚋𝚢 𝚊𝚗𝚗𝚎-𝚜𝚘𝚙𝚑𝚒𝚎 𝚓𝚘𝚞𝚑𝚊𝚗𝚗𝚎𝚊𝚞
And the only one I haven't read is "Kisses and Croissants". *cough* Okay, here's the thing: I really want it to be a good book. I want it to be sweet and swoon-worthy and cute and clean . . . yeah, it's the last one that has be worried. 😆 I am SO nervous it won't be clean.
I don't know a whole bunch about this book. I've heard from a few people it's good, and so that's a plus. But still . . .
Am I OCD-ing over this way too much? Highly likely. XD But I really don't want to read something unclean. 👀 I really just need to buckle down and read it.
*crickets chirping*
Yeah, that's what I thought. XD
Other than those 6 books I bought, I read 29 books. 🥵 How am I not out of books to read? 🤣 I have no idea. But I am NOT questioning it. I'm just rolling with it. And now I suppose ye want to see what books I've read? That's what I thought. I think I can oblige ye . . .

🥵🥵🥵 Wow, that's a lot more than it looks like. 🤣 (Plus I read two secret books that I cannay reveal. 🤐🤫)
I read so many book that it would be impossible to tell about them all, so I'll just share my favorites:
𝚙𝚊𝚒𝚐𝚎 𝚝𝚘𝚛𝚗 𝚋𝚢 𝚎𝚛𝚢𝚗𝚗 𝚖𝚊𝚗𝚐𝚞𝚖 This book was SOOOOO GOOOOD!!!!!! I love it so much and need book two RIGHT NOW.
𝚍𝚎𝚜𝚝𝚒𝚗𝚊𝚝𝚒𝚘𝚗 𝚞𝚗𝚔𝚗𝚘𝚠𝚗 𝚋𝚢 𝚊𝚖𝚢 𝚌𝚕𝚒𝚙𝚜𝚝𝚘𝚗 I was so excited to get the second book in the Roadside Assistance series last month! I've actually always like Whitney, so it was so cool to see her get her own book. 🥰 And may I just say, Taylor is AMAZING.
𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚕𝚘𝚘𝚔𝚒𝚗𝚐-𝚐𝚕𝚊𝚜𝚜 𝚒𝚕𝚕𝚞𝚜𝚒𝚘𝚗 𝚋𝚢 𝚜𝚊𝚛𝚊 𝚎𝚕𝚕𝚊 OH MY GOODNESS THIS BOOOOOOOOOOOK!!!!!! 😍😍😍😍😍 I read it in less than 12 hours. I was so blessed to be on Sara's street team and couldn't wait to get my hands on this book. 🥰 It was just as lovely as I had hoped, and the perfect ending to the duology. (Even though the end was 😭😭💔💔.)
𝚍𝚎𝚊𝚛 𝚊𝚖𝚎𝚛𝚒𝚌𝚊: 𝚊𝚌𝚛𝚘𝚜𝚜 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚠𝚒𝚍𝚎 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚕𝚘𝚗𝚎𝚜𝚘𝚖𝚎 𝚙𝚛𝚊𝚛𝚒𝚎 (𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚍𝚒𝚊𝚛𝚢 𝚘𝚏 𝚑𝚊𝚝𝚝𝚒𝚎 𝚌𝚊𝚖𝚙𝚋𝚎𝚕𝚕) 𝚋𝚢 𝚔𝚛𝚒𝚜𝚝𝚒𝚊𝚗𝚊 𝚐𝚛𝚎𝚐𝚘𝚛𝚢 This is probably one of my favorite Dear Americas I've read. Hattie is such a relatable MC, and the faith content is so lovely. 🥰
𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚏𝚊𝚕𝚜𝚎 𝚙𝚛𝚒𝚗𝚌𝚎 𝚋𝚢 𝚓𝚎𝚗𝚗𝚒𝚏𝚎𝚛 𝚗𝚎𝚒𝚕𝚜𝚎𝚗 Yup. I finally read it. AND I LOVED IT!! I want to read the next books in the series SO. BAD. 🤩🤩
*looks back at what I've written so far and coughs* I've already said a lot, but I haven't even touched on the life stuff yet! XD
*sips a latte in preperation*
Life was . . . interesting. I did Parkour for the first time in my life earlier this month, and it was so fun! (Despite the bruises. 😶😂) But I didn't get to work out as often as I would've liked (like, not at all XD). I did get in a few more tricks on my trapeze bar though--hanging by one leg, holding on with one hand and a leg, and flipping backwards.
Ah, yes, and the writing.
🥰
I think I got an overall of 20,000 words written last month. *que the celebratory confetti and cupcakes* Those words were combined from several different projects, though, so I didn't get 20,000 in a single WIP. I have been editing my medieval novella quite a bit though (I have four chapter including an epilogue left!!), and brainstorming the third book in the series (because apparently book two hates me -_-). It has been so fun getting to write medieval again. 🥰
Ooh, and speaking of medieval, I've recently been listening a TON to
Téir abhaile 'riú by Celtic Woman
My Jolly Sailor Bold by The Hound and the Fox
They both give me such lovely Celtic/Irish vibes, and it's so lovely. 😍 (I got My Jolly Sailor Bold from a friend of mine, and I must say, I'm addicted. 🥰💚🤍🧡)
Annnnnd, now I have ideas for a new story. 😆 It is kinda a mix of Jolly Sailor Bold, Téir abhaile 'riú, the Skye Boat Song, and Danny Boy. 👀
With dragons.
And pirates.
*hides* 'Cause I totally need another WIP. 😶😂
Remember that Spring Bucket List I did back at the start of May? Yeah, me neither. 😆 I almost totally forgot about it halfway through the month. BUT I did manage to get a few things done . . .
1 | PAINT MY NAILS
This one I . . . sort of did. 😂 I have this habit of chewing my nails when I'm stressed or reading a book or watching a movie or really anytime. And when that happens, I usually wake up the next morning with bloody nail. 👀 And that also means I have about 0 nails left. (My poor nails. 😭) But I did do some really pretty pink and blue press-on nails once (and they fell off about an hour later after I washed my hands. 😐) But it still counts in my book!! XD
2 | PRESS FLOWERS
Actually, yes! I pressed a really pretty blackish-purple flower that I forgot the name of and some chrysanthemum! I'm pressing some more right now as we speak. 🥰 And then I plan on gluing them into a really cool junk-journal I have.
3 | GO ON A WALK
*cough* Erm . . . vut is valk? 😶 I don't think I've been on a walk all month long. *sobs*
4 | CLIMB A TREE
Ha! Another one I can actually cross off! *grins triumphantly* I did climb a trees, and succeeded in not scraping my knee. 😇
5 | BE A HOBBIT FOR AN ENITRE DAY
*falls weeping to the ground* I have failed. I have not yet turned Hobbit for a day. 😭😭 Does it help that I plan to sometime soon? 🥺
6 | WAKE UP EARLY AND WATCH THE SUNRISE
😑😐 Again, I have failed. (I'm really horrible at this. 😶) I was so dead-tired last month, I never even thought about waking up early to watch the sunrise. I was too busy sleeping. 😂
7 | STARE AT THE STARS
I actually did do this one, somewhat. Not on the rooftop like I wanted to, but I still did. 🥰 I love stars, don't you? 🌟✨🤩
8 | LEARN MORE TRICKS ON MY TRAPEZSE
✔Done!
9 | READ THE SECRET GARDEN
Aaah, I wouldn't miss this one. I read the entirety of this book in one day. 🥰🌻☀🦋 I just adore Mary and Dickon. Dickon's my absolute favorite character in the whole book.
And that's about all I've done in May! Now let's run through a quick lil' June to-do list and then ye can resume your previous activities. 😉
TO DO IN JUNE . . .

Well, that's about it for today, y'all! Sorry it was kind of long-winded . . . 👀 But I had fun doing it!
Have you ever been a Hobbit for a day? Have you ever heard of either of the songs I mentioned? Have you read any of the books I did last month? What is your opinion on Medieval? DO YOU THINK I CAN HOBBIT WITH THE BEST OF THEM? I'd love to know! <3
AAAAAH YOU READ THE FALSE PRINCE?!?! That is one of my favorite books!!! I'm so glad you loved it! 😄 Do you have a favorite character? Congrats on all the writing progress and hopefully June will be just as productive!!! (And hopefully you'll get that chance to redeem your hobbiting abilities. 😉😂)
Your blog literally gets more aesthetic every time I get on here! It makes me feel so calm and happy looking at it.☺️ Lovely lovely post, Deig! <333
Oh my gosh, Deigan! How in the world would one be a hobbit for an entire day?!
I enjoyed this post, Deigan! (Heehee…wow, I knew you liked My Jolly Sailor Bold, but you must really like it in order to feature it in your blog post! 😁).
Ooh…I can’t wait to hear more about your upcoming story idea!!!!!! 😍
Ahhh…I adore The Secret Garden! It’s especially wonderful if you can find a really pretty illustrated edition. ☺️ 🌼
